Paintball Final CTF, is a noble effort, a solid CTF map that, while maybe a little imbalanced, is enjoyable and noteworthy
nonetheless.
You can be killed at any time, and so to help prevent this, there are many different tactics that are out there, like
hiding behind trees(you don't get hit half the time this way), and also upgrading. some unit upgrades have more health then
others, the upgrades is where the slight imbalance comes in.
So, about the balance. It is only slight, but maybe noticeable in certain situations, like when you have two zealots(yes,
that is a potential unit upgrade you can get) with shields and 11 health, and the starting is 1, in your base constantly killing
you, or one in there, and the other stealing your flag. But i guess this does add some sort of other strategy to it of it
being a race to get the most kills, literally, winning depends on it.
I actually one when i played, mostly playing defensive and hiding behind trees and using Hold Position (really, really
useful) to pick off unsuspecting players, and slowly advancing from tree to tree 'till i got to the enemy base(i was the zealot
that stole the flag :P) while my ally was being a little more mean, camping. hehe. Of course, its not just one side that can
get to that point, any side can, dynasty or aftershock, it is just a matter of getting the most kills and upgrading your unit
faster using the tactics i explained earlier in this review.
The action is well paced and its extremely easy to figure out what to do. you see, unlike SOME starcraft maps, it actually
goes to the trouble of explaining in the mission briefings.
So basically, even though it may be slightly imbalanced, a good 96% of it is is skill, strategy and tactics, and the good
thing is that it's fun for both sides, as well as winnable for both of them too.
